A few of my Faves

Do you ever have those days where you feel like you can't take a good picture to save your life? Well I feel like that has been me for a couple of weeks. I am in such a photography slump. So to get me out of that funk I thought I would put up just a couple of my favorites I have taken from over the years. The car ones I took back when I only had a small cheap point and shoot.

Haircut, Pumpkins and one Sicko!

Hey blog friends! I know I have been slacking on the blogging recently. Sorry I was on Vacation, yay for me :o) While there I finally got my hair cut, thank goodness it was getting a little blah.

When I got back Matt and I decided to carve our pumpkins. I know it sounds kinda lame and childish, but we have done it every year since we have been married. So it's become our little tradition. Every year we try to outdo the last and this year was no different. One of my bulldog friends found a different bulldog pattern than I did last year, so of course I had to do it. Matt found a Joker pattern online that he really liked.

After all of that fun one of us had to get sick of course. Poor Matt has to talk with a lot of people on a daily basis, some of who aren't always healthy. So of course he got the Flu, yeah you know the one the makes you go Oink, Oink. I am staying as far away as I can, while still trying to take care of the sicko. He is taking his Tamiflu, I made him homemade chicken noodle soup and we have already gone through the first gallon of Orange juice. Today was day one. So the rest of the time should be intersting. Here is the Ozzman trying to make Matt feel better. My two sweet boys :o)

Until next time bloggies! Hope all is well with you, don't go getting sick!

Up!

Okay so I know that I should have posted about this movie when I saw it, but now I am.

I LOVE this movie.

It has honestly become one of my favorite movies. It is a kid's movie, but it easily is for adults as well. It deals with some very serious issues. Issues that I personally can relate to. Young love, Infertility, lack of money, love of a dog, orphans... I could go on and on. I literally sobbed at parts in the movie. l Who knew that a movie made for children would make me cry like that. In a good way. It made me feel better about things I was dealing with.

Doug, oh, Doug. Doug is the wonderfully loyal dog, who reminds me so much of my little Ozzy. Not so bright at times, but has devoted love no matter what. My favorite line,"I hid under your porch, because I love you." Oh my word I burst into tears.

It comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 10th. I know I'll be buying it. When it comes out you must go rent it at least. It is an amazing movie.

Love at first sight

I am in love with a mixer. The Kitchen Aid 90th Anniversary mixer to be exact. While browsing Sur La Table on Friday there it was. All metal construction, candy apple red, glass bowl work of art. I love it. I want it. Oh and did I mention my birthday is right around the corner???

UGH!

So I haven't posted in a while because the power cord to my laptop decided to die suddenly. Just out of the blue no warning whatsoever. I am so bummed.

My sister is visiting and we have taken lots of fun photos of the kidlets. Hopefully my new cord will come soon and you can see them.

Until then, I'll see you around :o)

Real Chocolate

Do you like chocolate?? Of course you do!!! But are you eating REAL chocolate?? Do you even know if you are?

Well the wonderful people at Mars Chocolate have promised to always make real chocolate. You know... they make Dove chocolate, Twix bars and many more yummy chocolates.

I first heard about their promise to continue to make real chocolate through my mom. Who just happens to be a Dove Chocolatier. Yum! You see when you make chocolate you need to put some sort of butter/oil in it. Instead of using real Cocoa butter, from Cacao, many companies are starting to use things like vegetable oil to cut down costs. Yuck!!! That's why chocolate tastes so much better when you get it from Germany, Switzerland or even Mars chocolate.

To show customers what real chocolate should taste like Mars is giving away free chocolate. What was that??? FREE chocolate??? Yeah!! Every Friday through October you can register for a free candy bar! They will send you a coupon in the mail and all you have to do is go to the store. WAHOO!!! I received my first one in the mail today, I am sooo excited!

So go to RealChocolate.com and Enjoy!

California, we miss you

A couple weeks ago we went to California for our anniversary and to visit family. We had so much fun it was hard to leave. I really miss the nice cool weather of SoCal as opposed to SoUtah.

Of course we had to go to the beach that is a must. Matt and I packed up Ozzy and his things and hit the road. My Sister, her Husband and two girls came along too.

One of my cutiepie nieces enjoy the beach with Mommy

Ozzy and Matt enjoy the water

Ozzy had a blast running and jumping in the water. Unfortunately it isn't off leash season at the beach yet.

His best tough guy stance. He is such a funny little guy.

One of my favortie pictures from the day. My niece got a little overwhelmed by a wave and ran to Daddy for assurance. It was too cute not to take a picture of.

Meanwhile back at the ranch...

Just kidding, my parents have been raising chicken for a few months now. They decided they wanted fresh eggs and stop eating hormone and steroid treated eggs. It is amazing the difference. Even Ozzy isn't allergic to them, which he usually is.
The whole pack

This gal was so funny, she kept inching closer to me, probably wondering what the heck I was doing.

And then there is Angus, King of the castle, or so he thinks.

He would just sit in the backyard and watch over the chickens. He didn't chase them, just watched.

We had a lot of fun visiting family and just relaxing. It was very much needed.

No Seriously!

Can we talk about this guy???

He is amazing!

I know I probably don't tell him enough but he is pretty awesome.

Since the end of February he has lost 65 pounds!!! But that's not why I love him.

I love him because he puts up with me. He puts up with my craziness, my insecurities, my stupid habits, my forgetfulness, and my bizarre ideas. He will do just about anything to make me happy.

Our current plan for the future is for him to join the Air Force as an Officer. In order to do so he has to lose about 100 lbs. You see he is 6'6" and you have to be a bean pole to be in the Air Force. Since we don't have children right now and we don't see it in the near future, we are ok with moving around a lot. I am actually kind of excited about it. I miss just being him and me in a new place. I won't like being separated, but I can cherish the time that we are together.

Now I just need to become one of those women who I admire. Women who can stand on their own. Women who are fierce. Women who aren't afraid to do things just because they can and had nothing better to do. Why do I feel like watching "Yes Man" all of the sudden??

My whole life I have been shy and quiet until people get to know me. I am tired of it. For me it is easier said than done, but I really need to break out of my shell. There was a time where I was passionate about life and learning. I miss that. I can't wait to get back to that.

Wait, this post isn't supposed to be about me....

Yeah I know...

It's been awhile.

If you know what has been going on the past couple weeks you probably would understand.

Let's just say you never win against the boss' daughter.

Since I have had some unexpected time off recently, I haven't felt like doing much of anything. But thankfully that's all over now. I have decided to go back to school, YAY!!! After four long years of being away I am finally going back. I am so stinkin' exciting I can hardly stand it. I know I will be older than alot of the people there, but who cares! I'll more than likely be taking some photography classes, art history, you know all of those real important classes. Classes start in August so I'll have a few more weeks left of hanging out and then back to school. YAY!!!

A walk down Main St.

Saturday we took Ozzy for a walk down Main St. Mostly so we could get cupcakes :) It was pretty hot out, but the cupcake place had misters outside so we sat and hung out for a little while.

And can we talk about this guy!?! Wow...

Happy Boy has returned

Our happy little guy is back. Last sunday we ended up taking him to the emergency vet after a turn for the worse. He became very lethargic, had hives all over his body and he refused to eat. We rushed him over to the E-Vet and he was given an antibiotic shot for his skin and antibiotic pills for the rest of the infection. He slept for two days straight from the drugs, who knew antibiotics would knock him out. We literally had to nudge him to wake him up, it was kind of funny actually. Tuesday morning he woke up happy and bouncy as ever. He still has sores and missing patches of hair from the hives, but he is doing well. One good thing that has come out of it, he has really started to enjoy hugs, pets and snuggles without being sleepy. He will now just come and sit by us and watch tv with us. It's kinda cool. Next month will be his first birthday! It's insane how fast time has gone by. He is still growing and is weighing in at 46 lbs. So he still has at least another 10-15 lbs to grow. We are so happy he is with us and we are planning to get him a playmate once we have our own place again. Who knew I would love a dog this much!?!

My little donut boy

My poor little guy was bitten by a little white dog that shall remain nameless. So now he has to wear this so he won't scratch:

What I have been up to...

The past few months I have been busy, busy, busy! Here are a few examples of what I have been doing. If you would like senior portraits, family portriats, engagement and wedding portriats, let me know!
