New Obsession

Okay so I have this new addiction...

PHOTOGRAPHY.

Okay so it's not really a new addiction. I have always loved photography. This year with our tax refund my husband was sweet enough to let me buy a Nikon D60. Lucky me!!! I am learning how to use photoshop more and more each day. I finally understand how the program works after owning it for over two years.

So if you know anyone in the St. George area looking for a photographer, keep me in mind. :o)

Oh and by the way I have officially lost 20, yes TWENTY pounds!!! Wahoo!!

Okay, Okay I know....post something!!!

Well, Sorry to all of my adoring fans I just have not been much in the blogging mood recently. Come on I am trying to teach a bulldog to skateboard here people!!

Anyways, I thought I would let you all in on how my weight loss goals are going. I know I said I started a few months ag but really the weight has just started to come off in the past 3 weeks. In December the tall kid got sick and then I got sick and the he got sick again and then I got sick again. Oh the joys of being married. So in January we started over. I decided to take a new approach and just eat less overall. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, just smaller portions, like maybe a little over a palm size. In the 3 weeks that I have really been buckling(is that a word?) down and exersizing and eating better I have lost 15 pounds!!! I am so excited! I am afraid of when I will hit a wall but, I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I am hoping to be swimsuit ready again by June or so. LIke I said ideally I would like to lose about 90lbs total but realistically I would like to lose about 60-65 lbs. So 15 down 50 to go. I am just so happy that it is going so well so far:o)

Where in the world have we been!?!!!

Well its been an interesting couple of weeks...

First we had Christmas and that was good. I really wished we could have gone home for Chistmas, but unfortunetly we both had to work and stay here. I really missed my family and getting into the Christmas spirit and fun. It was just like another holiday around here. Which isn't bad :)

Next we my parents drove all the way to Vegas to meet us and have a little get together to celebrate Christmas. It was alot of fun. Wished it could have been longer, but you know how it goes.

Then we went up to Ogden to hang out with Dave and Jamie. It was alot of fun. One of the highlights is that we were able to go and see Ozzy's breeder.Unfortunetly they sold his mom :( but they did have his Dad.

They had alot of fun together. Then whenever we were at the house Ozzy was playing with Dave and Jamie's dog Macy the whole time. He seriously slept for like 4days straight when we got home. Crazy!

Finally last weekend my middle sister and her husband and two girls came up to visit! Yay!!! We had so much fun, even if we hung out at home the whole time. Little Miss got her fingers and toe nails painted. We took Ozzy on a walk. Again Ozzy played with everyone the whole time and was exhausted by the end of the weekend. I wished they could have stayed longer but alas we all do need to find jobs and work :)

I had so much to blog about but unfortunetly I have forgotten it all. I know you all are so upset over it, hehe. Oh well, until next time!

Nie Nie

This was on the news this morning and I couldn't help but share! This is what happens when people are actually human and kind towards one another:

Airplane crash survivors get new home in Provo
December 22nd, 2008 @ 10:08pm
An Arizona mom and well-known blogger who survived a plane crash is getting an early Christmas present from her family in Provo: a house. There, she and her husband can spend time recovering from severe burns sustained in the crash.

A private plane Christian and Stephanie Nielson were in went down in Arizona this past August. It killed their friend and instructor.

Now, the Nielsons are recovering from their injuries: Christian was burned over 35 percent of his body; Stephanie, over 80 percent.

To help with recovery, the two decided to come back home to Provo to be near Stephanie's family. "Within a mile radius, you have a brother, two sisters and parents," Stephanie's brother-in-law Vance Checketts explained.

Vance and his wife, Page, who is Stephanie's sister, bought a home in Provo for the couple and their four children.

The home underwent several changes, which included major renovations. But that came with lots of help. "Lots of people who knew and loved Stephanie and Christian offered to help," Vance said.

Christian and Stephanie Nielson So did Provo businesses. From the walkway outside to the concrete countertops, all were donated.

Stephanie's family says this house is a symbol of hope. "Her desire to get better and stronger has really increased because she wants to get back here and see her home," Stephanie's brother Jesse Clark said.

Stephanie, who remains in the University Hospital burn unit, has already undergone at least a dozen surgeries and has many more to go. "She's going to need a lot of help and care both for herself and for her children for quite a while," Page said.

The house is meant to be the gift that will let Stephanie and her family heal. "Especially at this Christmas season when we talk of giving and of service and of love, we are just overwhelmingly grateful and thankful for all of those people who've put in their time and effort," Jessie said.

Stephanie's blog, the Nie Nie Dialouges, has attracted a lot of attention even before the accident. Through that blog and others, Stephanie's family and friends have raised more than $200,000 that will go toward the couple's mounting medical bills.

I thought I lived in SOUTHERN Utah

So here I am thnking that I moved somewhere warm, but instead it is SNOWING!!!! Booooo! I have had enough snow. On the other hand Ozzy loves it. He was trying to eat it. He even helped some neighborhood kids build their snowman. Seriously he did. He helped them roll up the giant snowball. It was too cute. So next time we move it could very well be to Hawaii, where it doesn't snow. Oh wait... I heard it's snowing there too today. Did I mention I hate living in the snow.
